Yan on Shasta

  • My name is Yan Pritzker. I like software, food, ruby, macs, unix, music, travel, skiing, and mountain climbing.
  • I work at G2 SwitchWorks, a travel industry startup that’s changing the world of travel distribution.
  • I hack on Planypus, a Ruby on Rails startup that’s going to change how people make plans together.

People ask me all the time why I chose the name ’skwp’ as my online identity. It comes from a short story by Asimov that I read in my younger years. In this story, skwp is an alien scribe/translator who speaks myriad languages. Somehow this appealed to my senses, and besides it’s about as short as you can get on the internet while still being unique enough to have this name available on pretty much every site requiring registration.

    SKWP:

    You had an article on using ROXML for web services. I cannot find it anymore.

    Also I had a question on that article. How do you specify the client side certificate and key using Nett::HTTP
